Senior Road Freight Controller

A well-renowned local integrated solutions transport provider requires a Senior Road Freight Controller to join their dynamic team in the Durban region.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities: (Not limited to)

• Control, manage, plan and co-ordinate Import Control, Export Control, and Road Freight
• Ensure client deadlines and procedures are adhered to
• Assist to maintain good service levels and good revenue margins as per the contract rates and any write offs / errors are kept to a minimum.
• Provide a positive learning environment to strengthen the team you are working with.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the departmental and company procedure manual.
• Ensure all shipments are dispatched within the proposed time frame.
• Keep client fully informed of the progress of the shipment.
• Ensure all Customs regulations are met including the prompt return of documents.
• Any other delegated tasks deemed as reasonable as assigned by the reporting manager

Desired Experience & Qualification

Education and Experience:

• Matric
• A Freight and logistics or any such relevant course qualification is an advantage
• Minimum 5 years of cross border and local road freight experience, in and outbound.
• Excellent understanding of road freight into Africa and know destinations and potential challenges faced in trucking.
• Strong customs exposure of export, import, customs stops, etc.
• Must have good contacts in the transport industry that will assist in preferential rates & service to help win more business.
• Well organized and self-disciplined
• Navis and C Track

Skills:

• Operationally strong with a good track record of growth.
• A team player prepared to share knowledge with the team so everyone grows.
• Cargowise experience an advantage.

Package & Remuneration

Salary:

Market-related with a Lucrative salary structure in place, good rewards offered for team members that perform.R15 000-R18 000,
